Florida NPs: To all the early NPs and from 1965 to 1985

Posted 8 months ago by Jean Aertker, DNP, APRN, FAANP

Dear colleagues,  As we work on building our Florida nursing history, I would like to trace the first 20 years of the nurse practitioner role in Florida! What I’d like to do is gather  three - five minute recordings from licensed NPs during this time frame to provide early recollection of your school, the program type, what inspired you to become a nurse practitioner, and what it was like trying to find a position another comments you wish to share! Please contact me Jean Aertker @ Draertker@gmail.com. I have an interview form with questions that you can answer and record on your phone or computer. When completed simply send to me as a voice file and I’ll transfer over to a continuous loop. This would be posted for active members of this website in hopes that we can record our history of the early days before it gets lost. If you send a picture of yourself at the  time you graduated, and your CV I’ll be sure and reference it to introduce you on the tape recordings . This is not a research project, but just a gathering of data to share with others This could be a fun project and as we learn much about those early days and let others see what pioneers you were! Thank you in advance for helping us pull this history together!
